Hi, I'm Niamh. Welcome to Oxford Online English.
嗨,我是Niamh。接待分开牛津大学在线英语讲堂。
In this lesson, you can learn to talk about sports in English. Are you a sport fan?
在本节课程中,你可以学到怎样用英语议论活动。你是活动迷吗?
What sports do you like playing? Sport is a common topic in English conversation, so whether you like sport or not, it's good to have something to say and be able to to ask some questions about sport.
你喜好什么活动呢?活动是英文对话中非经稀有的话题,以是无论你对否喜好活动,有关于活动的话可以议论、有关于活动的成绩可以问,总归是很好的。
First question: do you like sport? Think about how you could answer.
第一个成绩:你喜好运功吗?想想你会怎样作答。
You could say something like: I've always been really sporty.
你约莫会如此说:我超等热爱活动。
I enjoy some sports, though I'm not a fanatic. I'm not that into sport, to be honest.
我喜好活动,固然没那么狂热。讲真,我并不是很喜好活动。
Do you know what the words sporty and fanatic mean? Sporty describes someone who's really interested in sport, and who often plays sport.
你晓得 sporty 和 fanatic 是什么意思吗?Sporty指的好坏常喜好活动、也常常活动的人。
A fanatic literally means someone who only cares about one thing. You can use it with an indirect meaning to describe someone who's really interested in something.
Fanatic字面上的意思是只十分体贴某个东西的人。你可以用它的直接涵义,来形貌对某个事变特别感兴致的人。
So if you say, I enjoy some sports, though I'm not a fanatic, you mean that you like sport, but it's not the most important thing for you. Okay, you have three sentences.
以是假如你说,我喜好某些活动,只管并不是狂酷喜好者的时分,你的意思是你喜好活动,但是活动于你而言并不是最紧张的事变。好的,你如今有三个句子。
Which is closest to your opinion? These are good sentences to start talking, but remember you should always add more detail if possible!
哪个和你的意见最接近呢?这是开好的句子来开头议论,但是要记取,假如可以的话,要多加上一点细节!
Let's add some reasons or details to the three sentences you saw: I've always been really sporty.
让我们给你看到的三个句子加上一些缘故大概细节吧。我不休十分热爱活动。
I loved sport when I was a kid, and I still play most weeks. I enjoy some sports, though I'm not a fanatic.
我是个孩子的时分就很喜好活动,如今每周基本照旧要活动。我喜好活动,只管并不是很狂热。
Playing football or something like that can be fun, but I don't want to take it too seriously. I'm not that into sport, to be honest.
踢踢足球还挺好玩的,但是我不想把它搞得太严厉。讲真,我不是很喜好活动。
I'm not very athletic and I find watching sport quite boring. These are already much better.
我不是活动型的人,并且我以为看体育的东西很无聊。这些句子很多了。
If you can add reasons or details when you speak, your speaking will sound better, too! Let's look at some useful words here:
假如你语言的时分可以加上一点缘故大概细节,你的发言也会听起来更好的!让我们看看一些有效的单词:
Athletic describes someone who's in good shape and who enjoys exercise and sport. If you say I'm not very athletic you mean that you aren't very good at sport, and probably you don't really enjoy it, either.
Athletic是用来形貌那些身体很好,很喜好训练和活动的人。假如你说我不是活动型的人的话,那也就是说,你不是很善于活动,约莫也不喜好。
Another very useful phrase is I find… , as in I find watching sport quite boring. This is a very good way to give your opinion about something.
另一个十分有效的句子是我以为...,好比:我以为看体育的东西很无聊。这是一种很好的展现你对某个事物看法的办法。
For example: I find watching snooker weirdly fascinating.
好比说:我以为观看斯诺克超等好玩。
I find swimming very relaxing. I found volleyball much more difficult to play than I was expecting.
我以为游泳十分令人轻松。我以为排球比我想象中更难打。
So, what about you? Do you like sport?
那你怎样以为呢?你喜好活动吗?
Pause the video and make at least two sentences. Remember to add reasons and details.
停息视频,本人造最少两个句子。记取要加上缘故和细节。
Okay? Next, we're going to look at how to talk about different kinds of sport in more detail.
好吗?接下去,我们要看一下怎样具体地议论不同品种的活动。
How many team sports can you name in English? What did you think of?
你能用英语说出几种团队活动?你想到了什么呢?
Maybe you thought of team sports like football, basketball, hockey, volleyball or cricket. Do you play any team sports?
约莫你想到了足球、篮球、曲棍球、排球大概板球这些团队活动。你玩什么团队活动呢?
Usually with team sports, we use the verb play. You could say something like:
我们通常会用 play 这个词来形貌团队活动。你可以说:
I play football. I like playing basketball.
我踢足球。我喜好打篮球。
I really enjoy playing cricket.?But, of course, these answers are much too short and lacking in detail!
我真的喜好打板球。但是,固然了,这些答案太短了,并且缺乏细节!
So, think about these questions: where do you play, how often and who with? By answering these simple questions, you can make your answer much more detailed and interesting, like this:
以是,想想这些成绩:你在何处玩,多久玩一次以及和谁一同玩?经过回复这些成绩,你可以让你的答案愈加具体、愈加幽默,就像:
I play 5-a-side football with some friends every Sunday. We rent a sports hall and play a 60-minute match.
我每周日和一些伙伴玩五对五足球。我们租了一一局部育馆,打六十分钟的比赛。
Or, I like playing basketball. I play for a local team.
大概,我喜好打篮球。我在当地的一个队里打篮球。
We train three times a week and have matches once or twice a week, sometimes in our town, and sometimes in other cities. Do you get the idea?
我们每周练习三次,每周会有一两次比赛,偶尔分在我们本人的城镇,有的时分在其他的都市。你懂了吗?
Let's do one more example, just to make sure: I really enjoy playing cricket.
以防万一,我们再来做一个练习:我十分喜好打板球。
I joined an online group and we meet in the park once a week for a game. Different people play every week, which keeps things interesting!
我到场了一个网上小组,每周在公园里碰面打比赛。每周打的人都不一样,十分幽默!
These examples give you some useful language you can use when you speak. For example:
这些例子会给你一些你在说的时分可以用得上的有效的言语。好比说:
I play for a local team. We play a 60-minute match once a week.
我在当地的一个步队打。我们每周打一场六十分钟的比赛。
I joined an online group. You can change these to make them true for you, like this:
我到场了一个网上小组。你可以厘革一下,让它们切合你本身的情况,就像:
I play for my school team. We play a friendly match a couple of times a month.
我在校队打。我们每周打多次交情赛。
I joined a club near my home. So, what about you?
我到场了家四周的一个俱乐部。以是,你呢?
Use the language with this section and talk about team sports you like. If you don't play team sports now, or if you don't like team sports, try to talk about a friend or relative.
使用这节课内里的言语,讨论一下你喜好的团队活动。假如你如今并不玩什么团队活动,大概你不喜好团队活动,试着去议论一个伙伴大概是亲戚。
Pause the video and make your answer. You can also write your answer down if you want extra practice!
停息视频,构造一下你的答案。假如你想要分外的练习的话,你可以写下的你的答案!
How was that? Next, a question: what's the opposite of a team sport?
怎样样?接下去的成绩:和团队活动相反的是什么?
There's the answer: individual sports. Can you name five different individual sports in English?
答案是:一局部活动。你能用英语说五个不同的一局部活动吗?
Maybe you said things like tennis, badminton, swimming, boxing, running or gymnastics. Of course, some of these can be team sports as well, like tennis or badminton.
你约莫会说:网球、羽毛球、游泳、拳击、跑步大概是体操。固然了,这内里有些可以是团队活动,好比说网球大概是羽毛球。
With individual sports, you may need to use different verbs. You play tennis and play badminton, but you go swimming, go running, do boxing and do gymnastics.
你必要用不同的动词来形貌一局部活动。你打网球大概羽毛球,但是你去游泳、去跑步、打拳击大概是做体操。
A good general rule is: Play plus ball sports; go plus an activity ending -ing; do plus other activities.
大抵的纪律是如此的:Play修饰球类活动;go 后方加以ing开头的活动;do加其他的活动。
And yes, you say do boxing even though boxing ends with -ing. Remember: it's a general rule!
是的,只管 boxing 是以-ing开头的,你照旧要说 do 拳击。记取:这只是一个约莫的纪律!
It will work most of the time, but not every time. So, think about the same questions you answered in the last section.
大大多时分都是对的,但并不是每次都对。以是,想想你在上一局部回复的相反的成绩。
What sports do you like doing? Where do you do them, how often, and who with?
你喜好什么活动?你在何处做活动,多久一次,和谁一同呢?
Look at one possible answer: I go running by myself or with my husband.
让我们看看一个答案:我本人,大概是和我丈夫一同去跑步。
I go once a week or so. I like going running in the park or just around the streets.
我一周约莫去个一次。我喜幸而公园跑步,大概就在街上跑跑。
What do you think—is this a good answer? It's not bad, but it's a bit repetitive and simple.
你以为怎样样——这是一个好的答案吗?这个答案还不错,但是有点反复,也太简便了。
Every sentence starts with the same word ('I') , which sounds unnatural. How could you improve it?
每个句子都是以相反的单词 “I” 开头,听起来并不天然。你怎样改良这个句子呢?
Here's one suggestion: I like going running once a week or so, sometimes in the park or just around the streets.
这里有一个发起:我喜好每周去跑一次步,偶尔在公园里,偶尔就沿着街跑。
Sometimes I run with my husband, or sometimes I just go by myself. What do you think?
偶尔我和我丈夫一同,偶尔分就本人去。你以为怎样样?
Does that sound better? Hopefully, it does.
听起来好点了吗?渴望是如此。
This answer uses slightly longer sentences and more varied language. This sounds more natural, is more interesting to listen to, and will also help you if you're taking an English exam such as IELTS.
这个答案句子更长,也用了愈加多样化的言语。这个听起来愈加天然,愈加幽默。假如你在到场雅思索试这种英语测验的话,这种答案对你也有所协助。
Let's look at another example: I do boxing at my local gym.
让我们看看另一个例子:我在四周的健身房做拳击。
I go to classes two or three times a week. I don't know the other people in the class.
我每周上两到三次课。我不熟悉课上的其他人。
What do you think? Could you make this answer better?
你以为怎样样?你能让这个答案更好一点吗?
Again, it's quite repetitive, because every sentence is a simple sentence starting with 'I'. Think about how you could make this answer more natural-sounding.
这个答案也很反复,由于每句话都很简便,都是以 “I" 开头的。想想你可以怎样让这个句子听起来愈加天然。
Pause the video and think about your answer if you want. Any ideas?
假如你想的话,停息视频,想想你本人的答案。有任何想法吗?
Here's one suggestion: I go to boxing classes at my local gym two or three times a week.
这里有一个发起:我一周去四周的健身房上两到三次拳击课程。
There are several other people who go to the same classes, although I don't know them well. Sound better?
有很多人和我上同一门课程,只管我并不怎样熟悉他们。听起来好点了吗?
Again, you can see that using slightly longer sentences and using varied sentence structures can make your spoken English sound more natural and interesting. Okay, so now you can talk about different sports you like, and say a little about them.
你能看到使用更长的句子和不同品种的句子布局可以让你的英语白话听起来愈加天然,也愈加幽默。好的,如今你可以议论你喜好的不同活动了。
Next question: why do you like the sports you like? Why do people do sport?
下一个成绩:你为什么喜好你喜好的活动呢?为什么人们要做活动呢?
How many different reasons can you think of? Some people do sport to socialize.
你能想到几多个不同的缘故?一些人做活动是为了交际。
Others love to compete. For some people, sport is just a way to get fit and stay healthy.
其他人喜好竞争。而关于有些人来说,活动不外是坚持康健的一种办法罢了。
What about you? Why do you do sport?
那你呢?你为什么喜好活动?
Let's look at two sample answers: I play 5-a-side football with some friends every Sunday.
让我们看看两个答案典范:我每周日和一些伙伴踢五对五足球。
For me, the most important thing is the social side. I don't care about the game, or who wins.
对我而言,最紧张的事变是交际方面的。我不是很体贴比赛本身,大概是谁赢了。
I just like having a laugh with some good friends and getting a beer afterwards. Here's another:
我只是喜好和好伙伴们说言笑笑,完毕之后喝杯啤酒。这里是另一个:
I play basketball for a local team. Personally, I love the competition.
我在当地的一支步队打篮球。对我而言,我喜好竞争。
There's no better feeling than winning a difficult match, or beating a team who beat you last time. I know some people say that sport's about taking part, not winning, but that's not true for me.
没有什么事变比赢了一场很困难的比赛,大概是打败了前次你输给的一支步队以为更好了。我晓得一些人说活动重在到场,不在乎胜负,但是对我而言并不是如此的。
If you don't play to win, what's the point? What do you think?
假如你不是为了赢的话,那有什么意义呢?你怎样想的?
Are these good answers? Hopefully, you can see that these are good!
这是好的答案吗?渴望你能发觉这些答案很好!
Talking about your personal feelings and opinions is your chance to really go into detail and use some interesting language. Let's look at some key words and phrases from the examples you've seen:
议论你一局部的以为和意见是让你变得愈加具体、使用幽默的言语的很好的时机。让我们看看这些例子中的一些紧张词和短语:
For me, the most important thing is… I just like…
对我而言,最紧张的事变是...我只是喜好...
Personally, … There's no better feeling than…
一局部来说,...没有什么比...以为更好了
You can use these phrases to give your opinion about many different things. For example:
你可以用这些短语说出你本人关于很多不同事物的看法。好比说:
For me, the most important thing is just getting outdoors and being active. I just like the feeling of overcoming a challenge.
对我而言,最紧张的事变是去户外活动一下。我只是喜好克服挑唆的以为。
Personally, I've always loved being in the water. There's no better feeling than when you're tired after a good game.
就我而言,我十分喜幸而水里的以为。没什么比一场很棒的比赛之后,肢体的疲劳以为更好了。
What about you? Can you describe why you do sport, and why you like the sports you like?
你怎样以为?你能形貌你为什么做活动,以及你为什么喜好你喜好的那些活动吗?
Pause the video, and try to make two or three sentences. Use the language from this section if you can.
停息视频,造两到三个句子。假如可以的话,用这局部你学到的言语。
Alright, so now you can say quite a lot about sport. Let's put everything together.
好的,以是如今你能就活动说很多话了。让我们把一切的东西总结一下吧。
To make a longer answer, you need to: Talk about your general attitude towards sport.
想要说出更长的答案,你必要:议论你关于活动的大抵态度。
Talk about which sports you like. Say where and how often you do sport, and who you do them with.
议论你喜好什么活动。说你在何处以及多久一次做活动,以及和谁一同活动。
Talk about why you do sport. Here's one example:
议论你为什么活动。这是一个例子:
I enjoy some sports, though I'm not a fanatic. Playing football or something like that can be fun, but I don't want to take it too seriously.
我喜好某些活动,只管我并不是一个狂酷喜好者。踢足球还挺幽默的,但是我不想把它搞得太严厉。
I play 5-a-side football with some friends every Sunday. We rent a sports hall and play a 60-minute match.
我每周日和一些伙伴踢五对五足球。我们租了一个活动馆,踢六十分钟的比赛。
For me, the most important thing is the social side. I don't really care about the game, or who wins.
对我而言,最紧张的事变是交际。我不是很在乎比赛本身,大概谁赢了。
I just like having a laugh with some good friends and getting a beer afterwards. This example only uses language from the lesson.
我只是喜好和伙伴们说言笑笑,完毕之后去喝杯啤酒。这个例子只是用了这节课学到的言语。
You can see how you can build an interesting, detailed answer using simple ideas. Let's do one more example, using original language and ideas:
你可以试试怎样用这些简便的点子构造幽默的、具体的答案。让我们再做一个例子,使用原汁原味的言语和一些点子:
I don't really like sport that much, but fitness and staying healthy are important to me. That's why I go swimming and do some weight training regularly.
我不是很喜好活动,但是坚持康健对我而言很紧张。那也是为什么我会常常去游泳,以及做一些分量练习的缘故。
I mostly just exercise by myself at the sports centre. Personally, I just do it because I feel I have to.
我通常都是一一局部在体育中央训练。于我而言,我活动的缘故是由于,我以为我得去活动。
I don't really enjoy it, although I don't mind it, either. I do like feeling healthy and fit, but exercising always feels more like work than something fun.
我不是很喜好活动,不外我也不是很介怀活动。我喜好肢体康健的以为,但是训练于我而言更像是事情,而不是什么幽默的事变。
Okay, now it's your turn. Make a longer answer like the two you've just seen.
好的,如今轮到你了。模仿刚刚你看到的两个答案,本人构造一个更长的答案。
Follow the same structure, and use the language from the lesson if you can. Don't forget that you can write your answer down if you want extra practice.
假如可以的话,相沿相似的布局,使用这节课学到的言语。不要忘记假如你想要分外练习的话,你可以写下你的答案。
Also, it's a good idea to practise your answer several times, until it's really fluent and comfortable. Then, if you're really serious, don't just make one answer!
对了,多次练习你的答案,直到说得很流利、很自如为止是个好想法。然后,假如你真的很仔细的话,不要只构造一个答案!
Make several answers, talking about different sports. Even better, make an answer from someone else's point of view.
构造很多答案,讨论不同的活动。更好的是,从其他人的角度来构造答案。
